The Govt. in a press release, approved the scheme for reimbursement of taxes and duties to exporters on the central, state and local level, which are not getting exempted or refunded under any other existing mechanism, but are incurred in the process of manufacture and distribution of exported products.

The rates are yet to be decided in the new RoDTEP scheme on the basis of previous method.

The scheme will gradually replace the existing Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) compatible with World Trade Organization (WTO) rules.
